What We Offer

Every student will receive:
  • One-on-one classes with experienced teachers who cater to the specific learning needs of each student 
  • A welcome package and orientation to Catarina when you arrive
  • A variety of textbooks and resource materials available to all students
  • Purified water, coffee, tea, fruits and snacks available every day
  • Free internet access at the school

We highly recommend living with a family as this is proven to increase your Spanish abilities, as well as gives you an opportunity to immerse yourself in Nicaraguan culture. There is no better way to learn about the culture and lifestyle here while you're having fun and making new friends!  If you choose to live with a family you will receive a comfortable private room and three meals per day (vegetarian options available).  Families have been chosen carefully and are warm, welcoming, and want to share their culture with you.

Please let us know if you are interested in volunteer work as there are a number of great projects you can be involved with while in Catarina.  

Classes run from 8:00-12:00 in the morning and 1:00-5:00 in the afternoon, Monday to Friday.  However, we can easily accommodate different times and weekend classes.  

There are a variety of packages to choose from, and we are also happy to talk with you and create a unique package to fill your specific needs.  

A certificate of completion is also available for a modest fee.

Package 3  Private lessons  

Another option to learn   Spanish is private tutorials.  These classes can be for one or more hours, and can take place at the school or in a different location of your choice.  Each hour of class is $6.

Package 4  Skype classes   

If you cannot travel, Spanish School Catarina offers you the opportunity to study Spanish from the comfort of your own home by using Skype.  Assignments and practical exercises can be sent by email, and class times can be easily arranged to fit your schedule.  Each hour of class is $11.

Package 6  Volunteer  

Spanish School Catarina is proud to offer a variety of volunteer activities. Here are some examples of volunteer work you can do:

  • Working with children in schools
  • Teach English to children
  • Environmental Projects
  • Health Education
  • Adult Education Projects

The price includes a donation volunteer agency who you will be working with, and the purchase of materials to support their work.
