Masaya Markets: Visit the two markets of Masaya, the municipal market and the artisan craft markets where they offer different products such as ceramics, garments, ornaments and others. The artisan market , often called the old market, retains its original architecture and is a favorite place for tourists fo find souvenirs and presents to take home. The municipal market is larger and you can find just about anything there. It is the main shopping place for locals. On this tour we will also make a trip to the central park where you can enjoy a delicious natural fruit juice, visit the church and many small kiosks around the park, and see the turtles in the plaza's water fountain!

Coyotepe Fortaleza. This is a historical place built in the early 1900s where you can admire views of the volcano, the Laguna and the city of Masaya, as well as the Managua lake! It is currently administered by the Boy Scouts and offer tours to anyone who wants to know the history of Nicaragua.

Verbena: This is a night of cultural celebration in Masaya. It is performed every Thursday evening, starting at 7:30 pm and ending around 10: 00. It is a great opportunity to enjoy typical Nicaraguan food and drinks, to observe a folk dance performance, listen to music, and dance if you wish!

Laguna de Apoyo: This tour is exciting as you will enter the crater of a volcano which is now transformed into a clean, clear and beautiful lake where you can swim, watch birds, and learn about different types of flora.

Videos: We have a variety of interesting videos about Nicaragua covering topics like its history, culture, wildlife, biodiversity and more. At the end of the video there is time for comments, questions, and general discussion about the video. This is a great time to use the Spanish you've been learning in a relaxed setting with other students and teachers. This will help you expand your knowledge, improve the level of understanding and at the same time interact with your classmates.

San Juan de Oriente: visit the lathe and manual production of beautiful clay-based ceramics.

Niquinohomo: This is the birthplace of the national hero Augusto Cesar Sandino, offers a pleasant climate and it's lower temperature allows for the growth of varied plant species and coffee production.

Masatepe: This city is known for the craftmanship of various attractive furniture items.

Cooking Class: We will show you how to prepare typical Nicaraguan meals (such as Gallo pinto, soups, and vigoron) and drinks (such as Pinolillo, maize-based beer, and natural juices).

Pacayita: Explore the indigenous hieroglyphics and the the old rail tunnel.

Farms: Visit local farms and learn about food production and a major part of the Nicaraguan economy.

Old Railway line: Take a beautiful walk around the slopes of the Laguna de Apoyo along the old railway line and enjoy a panorama view as well as seeing plenty of of birds and monkeys!
